RepairAI / Privacy

Privacy policy

Effective 25 July 2026

RepairAI is provided by The Modder Station, an independent UK-based developer. This policy explains what information RepairAI uses, why it is needed, how long it is kept, and the choices available to you.

Information RepairAI handles

  • Google account information. If you choose Google sign-in, RepairAI receives your Google account identifier, email address, display name and profile picture so it can link your RepairAI and customer desktop data.
  • Repair content. Repair goals, chat messages, device details, measurements and job records are processed to provide repair guidance and save your cloud repair library when you are signed in.
  • Camera frames. Frames are sent over encrypted HTTPS only while Live Analysis is running. Raw analysis frames are processed for the current answer and are not retained. A snapshot is kept only when you explicitly save it to a repair job.
  • Voice input. Speech recognition is provided by the speech service configured on your device. RepairAI does not retain audio recordings.
  • Optional improvement data. If you enable “Help improve RepairAI”, the service may retain the repair goal, findings, confidence, hazards, next action, model identifiers and request timing. This setting is off by default.
  • Optional community research. If you separately enable this feature, the native app can check an assigned public HTTPS repair page while RepairAI is open and return a short text extract for validation. It does not access private files, local network addresses, browser cookies, website logins or downloaded programs. Submitted evidence is quarantined for review and is not automatically added to the repair knowledge archive.
  • Safety reports and service logs. If you report unsafe or incorrect guidance, the request identifier, category and text you submit are retained for review. Security logs can include time, network address, app version and request status.

How the information is used

Information is used only to operate RepairAI, provide and improve repair guidance, link your chosen devices, prevent abuse, investigate faults and safety reports, and meet legal obligations. The Modder Station does not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.

Service providers

Google provides optional sign-in and may provide device speech recognition. Cloudflare provides website delivery, encrypted routing and security. The current RepairAI service runs its primary repair model on infrastructure controlled by The Modder Station. If a new cloud AI processor is introduced, this policy and the in-app disclosure will be updated before customer data is sent to it. Providers process data under their own terms and only for the services they supply.

Retention

Account identity, cloud settings and linked repair records are kept while your account remains active. Raw analysis frames are not retained. Saved snapshots remain with the repair job until that job or account is deleted. Optional improvement records and safety reports are kept for no longer than 12 months unless they must be retained to investigate an active security or legal issue. Routine security logs are kept for no longer than 30 days. Purchase and transaction records may be retained when tax, fraud-prevention or other law requires it; any retained record is restricted and is not used to keep an app profile active.

Your controls

You can use RepairAI without Google sign-in. You can turn optional improvement sharing and optional community research off from the privacy controls, sign out at any time, or permanently delete your account and associated cloud data from the Google account panel inside RepairAI. If you no longer have the app, use the web request below.

Safety and children

RepairAI provides educational repair guidance and is not directed to children under 13. Repairs are attempted at the user's own risk. Disconnect power, follow manufacturer instructions, and stop when a battery, mains-voltage or other serious hazard is present.

Questions or privacy requests

Use the account and data deletion form for deletion, access or privacy requests. Include the Google account email used with RepairAI so the request can be verified. This policy will be updated when RepairAI's data practices materially change.
