The Modder Station is an independent UK based maker platform. This notice covers the public website, free guides, Modder Community, feedback and volunteer moderator forms, and the browser local Parts Planner.
Information this website handles
- Browser local planning details. The Parts Planner keeps the details you enter in your own browser only. The planner does not create an account, send a parts brief to The Modder Station, quote a price, reserve stock, take payment or place an order.
- Community account information. Community sign in is provided through ChatGPT. The site receives a stable account identifier, email address and, when available, your display name. The site stores a public community handle, display name, optional bio and account role. Your email address is not displayed publicly.
- Public community activity. Posts, replies, forum choices, reactions and their dates are stored and shown publicly with your community profile. Remove personal information before posting. Public posts are not private repair records.
- Private conversations and safety controls. Direct messages are stored and shown only to conversation members. Reports, blocks, read status and moderation decisions are stored to operate safety and abuse controls. The Modder Station may review reported content when needed to investigate a report.
- Contact information you choose to send. If you email customer support, we receive the address, subject and content you provide so that we can respond to your request.
- Feedback you choose to submit. The feedback form stores its selected topic, feedback text, optional email address and whether you asked us to reply. Do not include passwords, payment details, account details, home addresses, serial numbers or private repair images.
- Volunteer moderator applications. The volunteer form stores the name or community handle, email, technical topics, availability and optional experience you provide so that we can review your application.
- Essential technical information. Website delivery and security providers may process standard request information such as the time of a request, IP address, browser type and request status to keep the site secure and available.
How information is used
Information is used only to deliver the public website and community, attribute member activity, deliver private conversations, investigate reports, respond to feedback or volunteer applications, protect the service, and meet legal obligations. The Modder Station does not sell personal information, use it for targeted advertising, or use website feedback or moderator applications to train AI models.
Service providers
Cloudflare provides website delivery, encrypted routing and security. Providers process information under their own terms and only for the services they supply.
Retention
Browser local planner details remain on your device until you clear them through your browser. Community profiles, posts, replies and messages are kept while the community account and related discussions remain active. Reports and moderation records may be retained as needed to protect members and document enforcement. Feedback submissions are reviewed and kept for up to 180 days. Volunteer applications are kept for up to 12 months. Support correspondence and routine security logs are retained only as long as reasonably needed to respond, protect the service or meet legal obligations.
Your choices
You can clear browser local data in your browser settings. You can change your public handle, display name and bio from Community. To ask for access to or deletion of community information, or ask about information sent through feedback, a volunteer application or customer support, email themodderstation@gmail.com.
Guidance and children
The public guides are educational and are not directed to children under 13. Repairs and modifications are attempted at the user's own risk. Disconnect power, follow manufacturer instructions, and stop when a battery, mains voltage or other serious hazard is present.
